The gossip magazines, from which I get a lot of my reference photos, were all trumpeting how Tom Cruise was dominating his mousy new wife. Katie Holmes, they said, wasn’t allowed to wear what she wanted or go out without his permission. True or not, that was the context when I drew this picture of Tom Cruise taking over the foreground while his wife smiles meekly behind.
