How Can I Get My Cartoon?

1. You click on “Order,” select how many heads you want in your caricature, and attach a photograph.
Be sure it’s a good, clear one, without any crazy angles or crazy expressions.
Simple portrait shots work the best.

2. We receive it and assign a caricature artist.

3. One of our talented artists makes the drawing.
We have a very few employees, and I personally train each one in the specific Cartoon Vegas Style .  Within that style, of course, each artist is as individual as they want to be.

4. We scan it and e-mail it right back to you.
You’ll have your own personal caricature within two days!

5. On the next business day, we mat the original picture and put it in the mail.
Postage is included in the price!  Shipping done by USPS.

We’re not a large caricature company by any means.  We have five artists total, and one caricature stand in Vegas.  If we receive a large batch of photos, we’ll generally take them down to the stand and draw them all in a couple of hours.  If it’s only one or two pictures, I find myself drawing from my home in Henderson, Nevada.

We use markers to perform the actual drawing.  I prefer a medium-sized, bullet-tipped marker with a hard tip.  They last the longest and provide the best line variation.  It’s difficult to find one with a good balance of ink quality, nib strength, and line quality, so I’m always experimenting with new materials.

We use Prismacolor Artstix to fill in the color.  They’re fast and clean.  In fact, they’re made from the same material that goes in Prismacolor’s colored pencils.  We use the sides to fill in broad areas, then the sharpened tips for detail work.  I generally go from light to dark, but it’s not neccessary.
