Caricature Gallery: Celebrities and Friends

We draw caricatures of celebrities to catch the eye and prove that we can really get a likeness.  These were almost all done at the stand, in between customers.  We do caricatures like this to warm up, to stay in shape, or to take on new challenges.

The hardest people for me to draw as a cartoon are famous women.  Standards of beauty for women are fairly narrow, and makeup and airbrushing make it hard to find a photo of a celebrity that really reveals the quirks.  Men are easier… they’re allowed to have big noses or bags under the eyes and still be famous.  The best time you can ever have as a caricature artist is drawing a group of old men who make fun of each other and themselves.
