What do you love about caricatures? I love the endless amount of ways a person’s face can be drawn. Styles and exaggerations can vary wildly from artists to artist, but what is most intriguing is if the artist captures to subject’s personality.
For struggling artists: Don’t stop! If you feel discouraged by your art figure out why it doesn’t work, then do your best to fix it. Do expose yourself to as much art as possible, but don’t compare yourself to the artists that you greatly admire. Be prepared for ruthless negative criticism, but remember that it’s impossible to appeal to everyone’s tastes. So make sure that you love what you do because this love will fuel your desire to progress, adapt, and keep going.
